This Mother's Day, as we thank our own mother's for all that they have done for us, we want to consider every mother of the world. In order to do that, Sovereign Global Advisors reached out with a donation to Every Mother Counts, an organization that works with community leaders, providing grants and educational resources with the goal of achieving quality, respectful, and equitable maternity care for mothers internationally.
The approach to care at Every Mother Counts is global, as a significant portion of maternal deaths occur outside of the United States, across many developing nations. However, the number of women who die giving birth in America each year has nearly doubled in the last two decades. So while the industrialized nations of the world have succeeded in lowering their maternal death rates, ours has increased. Every Mother Counts was created to drive attention and spur action to help end maternal mortality across boarders and races.
